NOC Group Overview
As the PS:One membership grows, so does the need for improved and formalized collaboration between various stakeholders regarding the network and associated services. These services include, but are not limited to, member and guest access, file and print sharing, centralized logon, wiki and webpage publishing, security, and physical layout. The NOC Group exists to help centralize decision-making regarding the PS:One network while incorporating input from the community, in order to balance the community’s desire for openness with the need for accountability and efficiency.
Goals and Objectives
- Create and update a network map of the internal and external systems
- Draft a schema for IP addressing and assign addresses to devices accordingly
- Create and update one or more wiki articles describing the configuration of the servers, network and services provided
- Clean up the server rack and cabling
- Identify and remove unused hardware

NOC Group Assumptions
- Users of the network will want to be left alone as much as possible.
- Your [Tool/OS/Hardware/etc] is OK and is not a reflection of you as a person (as long as it does not interfere with others).
- Drama routes very well over IP but interferes with the network. Please try to keep it to a minimum.
- Patch your boxes
- Users of the network should be excellent to each other and follow the golden rule. Treat the network and users as you would want to be treated.
- If you don’t know, ask. That’s what the NOC Group is for.
- ???
- Profit!
