IT Hardware Upgrades

Our client-side IT infrastructure is composed primarily of aging or donated gear. Upgrading and replacing these machines should be a priority.


Desktop Computers

  • Slicey
    • Core 2, running Windows XP.
    • Currently drives Lulzbot AO-100.
  • Solidworks machine
    • Win7 license
    • Solidworks
    • Any other 2d/3d design software?
  • Laser Cutter
    • Very slow. Windows XP
    • Need to check compatibility of epilog driver
  • Shop slave?
  • Potential lounge computer

Printing

  • Monica
    • Several members have had difficulties printing over network.
  • Large format
    • May be more trouble than it's worth?
    • Could be that any inkjet will perform poorly with our use cycle.
