How laser logins work from 2017 onwards

  • A member can/should have a username. If you don't have a username, go to members.pumpingstationone.org and click "activate" to associate a username with your email address.
  • After you have successfully completed an authorization session, your authorizer should add you to the group "Boss Authorized People," "Universal Authorized People," or "Epilog Authorized People" as appropriate, using the member management feature of members.pumpingstationone.org
  • You can add your own name to the wiki page for the laser in question, but it will do nothing other than list your name. It does not drive any logins whatsoever.

How laser logins will work, sometime in 2018 after the Wild Apricot migration is completed (TBAN)

  • After the member management system switches over from ps1auth to the Wild Apricot-driven system sometime in late 2018, your tool authorizations will be driven by that system. If you complete the member migration process, your authorizations should transfer over and work as before.
  • After the migration is complete, authorizers will need to contact a Wild Apricot admin if they are not one themselves.
  • At some future date, authorizations may be driven by the Canvas system, but that has not been implemented yet.

How Laser Cutter Logins used to work before 2016

A number of members have logins on the laser cutter computer from before a centralized member account system was in place, so accounts were created on the local machine. Once a member account system was in place, we chose not to disable the existing accounts in order to ease the transition. That decision has caused some confusion about how laser cutter logins work, so this page is meant to clear up some confusion, and provide guidance to those looking to learn how to use the laser cutter.

Legacy Account: Local Machine Accounts

For legacy, local machine accounts, your legacy account will continue to work, just select SHOPELEC (local computer) from the login screen and continue on as normal. We no longer create legacy accounts,

PS:One account: Not Laser Cutter Certified

If you have an account on http://members.pumpingstationone.org, but have not yet been certified to use the laser cutter, attend a Laser Cutter autorization and the authorizer will enable your account for access.

PS:One Account: Laser Cutter Certified

Select PS1 from the domain dropdown on the login screen and log in with your PS:One account.
