The voting / quorum issue I raised on the list has led me to thinking about membership management. I would like to put up for discussion the idea of all membership payments being due on the first of the month. Would this simplify things? Dues for people joining mid month could be prorated. The current membership could be asked to do a prorated payment and migrate their due date. Or a free period could be granted to all current members to migrate their due date. Just a thought.

That would be ridiculously non-trivial with paypal. Other payment methods similarly do not make sense. The benefit from such a change for the purposes of membership tracking would be minor.
