Replacement Bed?

Is it possible to get a mild steel bed? This allows using hard drive magnets to clamp slightly warped wood stock. --Rdpierce (talk) 17:53, 5 November 2014 (CST)

I spent many hours finding suitable replacement tables, including the aluminum one people are bending up because they're too fucking lazy to put it away properly. I think we'd just have to make one. It's not that big a deal at the end of the day, but not something I have any remaining interest in doing for PS:1 at this point. Have fun if you want to find one, because it's all on you. The white aluminum 'bed' sucks. Unless someone makes a proper drop in replacement, we should stick with OEM parts.--Dbever (talk) 09:32, 7 November 2014 (CST)

Using a steel bed like this would be dangerous for cutting said warped wood as it would provide a huge surface for flashbacks. The only beds suitable for cutting are the honey comb style ones which would probably not allow enough force from a magnet to be of any use.

I'm talking about a honeycomb mild steel bed. Sector67 has one on their Chinese laser. Plenty of clamping ability with hard drive magnets. That said, I don't know if this exists in the Epilog's size. --Rdpierce (talk) 09:54, 7 November 2014 (CST)
