Projects

Online Member System

PS:1 Remote
  • Remote participation system allowing (semi) secure member involvement online incorporating audio, video, voting, etc. real time. This of course is the high level project scope, we'll see what actually happens.

Electronic Learning System

PS:1earn
  • Online learning system coordinating classes taught with audio, video, presentation capturing, etc. to convert IRL classes to electronic courses to offer online. Utilize existing course management system such as Moodle or Sakai or build out custom platform (for instance within PS1 web CMS such as Open Atrium, Drupal, Joomla, Typo3, Wordpress, etc) to bring together various types of learning content.
CPR/First Aid
  • I'm working with a CPD, certified instructor and the Red Cross to setup an affordable CPR and First Aid training for the space. So far scheduling conflicts are the biggest problem, if you want to help or have contacts let me know!
  • I'm also trying to get any grant money or special donations to purchase an AED for PS1. The first aid training will include training on an AED.
  • Check out Chicago CERT, maybe PS1 would like to participate? http://bit.ly/ghvFBK

Help?

If you're already working on something that overlaps with what I'm hoping to do or you're interested in what I've outlined let me know. I'm definitely up to help anyone who's already got a start if they want it and I can use any help if you're willing to give it.

  • "A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky dangerous animals and you know it. Fifteen hundred years ago everybody knew the Earth was the center of the universe. Five hundred years ago, everybody knew the Earth was flat, and fifteen minutes ago, you knew that humans were alone on this planet. Imagine what you'll know tomorrow." -- Kay
