Getting Access
Assuming your client machine has access to bonjour/avahi style name resolution:
ssh [email protected]
echo new_host_name > /etc/hostname
Hosts File
/etc/hosts
127.0.0.1 localhost
127.0.1.1 new_host_name
reboot
reboot
ssh root@new_host_name.local
While the unit is rebooting, it's worth watching the lights on the beaglebone to make sure you are rebooting the right one.
Removing Stuff You Don't Need
apt-get remove apache2 xorg
