the deckel kf2 takes

  • regular oiling of the leadscrews
    • leadscrew oiling should be performed monthly.
    • via oil ports at the handwheels
    • These oil ports LOOK like grease nipples, but take oil. There is a hand powered spring oiler in the cabinet.
  • oiling of the way surfaces
    • via a one-shot oiler.
    • Way oiling should be performed whenever the machine is used.
  • The linkage joints should also be oiled
    • on a monthly basis in order to ensure smooth operation.
  • Clean up and way oiling should occur at each use, however, both should also be checked on a monthly basis to ensure the machine is in good repair even when not in use.
  • While the tables should periodically be stoned flat, the owner (Tucker Tomlinson) asks that you have him perform this maintenance rather than doing it yourself.

failure to lubricate the machine may result in binding and uneven cut pressure, resulting in snapped tool-bits. Inadequate lubrication will also result in excessive machine wear
