Background
An email to the directors list contained the following text:
My name is Sam. I breed algae, make robots that make coffee, hack, generate hydrogen using sunlight, create biodegradable plastics (then do spectroscopy on that plastic to observe its oxidation thus calculating rate of decay).
The one detail that I must bring up is my age, I am 17. I am aware that the age requirement to join is 18. I would like to make a plea to the directors to allow me to join regardless.
Talk it over with the group and get back to me at this address.

Change the following section of the bylaws: Bylaws#Eligibility for Membership at Any Tier from the following text:
In order to be a member of Pumping Station: One, a person must support the purpose and specific goals of the organization and be at least 18 years old. A member must also provide government-issued photo identification to at least two members of the board of directors at the time of payment of the first membership fee, and provide an electronic mail address for receiving official notice of members' meetings. Any person who does meet these requirements is eligible for membership in Pumping Station: One, as long as that person pays the monthly membership fee, as determined by the board of directors, for their chosen class of membership.
