'''Using Canvas for Tracking Authorizations'''
+
Authorizations are done in-person.
Canvas is how you will track your authorization throughout the 2 phases of authorization. You have a Canvas account already associated with your PS1 Wild Apricot account. Your Canvas login and password is the same as your Wild Apricot login and password. (If you don’t remember your Wild Apricot password, or you are sure you are entering the same password in Canvas as for your WA account,  you can reset it through Canvas via "Forgot password?" and get a password change via your email. This should correct either problem.)

To start the authorization process, you must go to Canvas and select the CNC:Tormach course via "Join this Course". You may start the online course material at any time, but must complete all elements of the online course up until the Harbinger CAM project before being eligible for the practical machine component of authorization.

Description

The 4th and 5th iteration of Formlab's SLA printers. Released for use by artists, designers, and professional 3D printers. The Form 3 offers a larger print area than the Form 2 and an improved optics engine.

Consumables and Materials

Who provides resin and trays? You may purchase your own resin and tray. These can be picked up locally from the Dynamism office if you call them: https://www.dynamism.com/

Members may have a part run at the cost of the resin without needing to be authorized.

You can send an STL file for automatic supports to books via slack or email - automatic settings are used to produce your part. Someone will be in contact with you to confirm material and collect payment.

You can also prepare files yourself using the Formlabs Preform software. There is a Discourse thread discussing how to do so in great detail: https://discourse.pumpingstationone.org/t/how-to-succeed-using-preform-for-the-form-3-sla-3d-printer/1210

Prerequisites to Authorization

The only prerequisite for Form 3 authorization is to be authorized on the "regular" 3D printers. Must be able to create a print on one of the currently operational filament printers. Formlabs authorization is about one 2-hour session. A Canvas Course is in progress.
