Foundry 1.0

Materials

  • already have
    • popcorn tin
    • scrap steel for lid walls (from cubicle wall cut offs)
    • wire for lid refractory retension (bicycle spokes from West Town)
    • bits of pipe & angle iron (any time from home depot)
    • blower (have one to salvage, if it works)
    • refractory materials
      • portland cement
      • silica sand
      • clay planter
      • broken clay planter bits
  • need
    • a couple bricks (dry, safe places to set down hot things)
    • pipe/rebar/angle iron for:
      • tongs
      • air spreader
      • air intake (necessary?)
      • crucible
    • charcoal
    • something for a lid handle (more wire?)
