Foundry 1.0
- following Lionel Oliver's Flowerpot Crucible Furnace instructions
Materials
- already have
- popcorn tin
- scrap steel for lid walls (from cubicle wall cut offs)
- wire for lid refractory retension (bicycle spokes from West Town)
- bits of pipe & angle iron (any time from home depot)
- blower (have one to salvage, if it works)
- refractory materials
- portland cement
- silica sand
- clay planter
- broken clay planter bits
- need
- a couple bricks (dry, safe places to set down hot things)
- pipe/rebar/angle iron for:
- tongs
- air spreader
- air intake (necessary?)
- crucible
- charcoal
- something for a lid handle (more wire?)
- slotted steel spoon for slag removal
