A project page for ideas and means make our space more Handicap friendly

Inspiration: Two folks on the same day wanted to use our Electronics Lab(2nd FLR) and were discouraged to find out they had no way of accessing the space due to being wheelchair bound.

Solution: LETS FIND ONE!!!!!!

Currently we have a movable ramp that should stay around the front door.

The front door width is 33" and the step in front of it is 3" high.

Second floor wheelchair access

The only solution I'm aware of is installing a stairwell lift. As far as I know, no one has pursued a quote on such a system - if someone wants to dig up a contractor willing to give us an evaluation at no cost, that'd be a great JFDI. There may also be grants we can pursue to improve handicapped accessibility, which is worth researching for those interested in solving this problem. --Dbever (talk) 22:56, 18 May 2016 (CDT)
