Certification Procedure

  1. [CERTIFIER] Create FTP server directory and chown it to ftp
  2. Power switch operation
    • Usage
    • Looking for off / no vacuum after power outage
    • No light = burnt out bulb or no power
  3. Give CMOS password
  4. [CERTIFIER] Create user dir, icons
  5. Start LEO UIF, select user directory
  6. Turn on Datazone
  7. Vacuum check, in the E-5 range
  8. Toolbar, switching toolbars, mouse sensitivity, beam and vacuum pulldown, vacuum dialog box
  9. Instruct user to restart vacuum if they are at the space and the vacuum is off.
  10. Chamber door: X to 50.00, Tilt to 0
  11. Stoplight to turn on the beam
  12. Brightness / Contrast
  13. 5 Axes
    • Z axis – back off to 31.0 (assuming no tall samples)
    • Rotate – no stops, freely rotates
    • Rotate to see all samples
    • Have the user pick a metal sample
  14. Set beam energy
    • Using dialog box, check units
    • Explain magnification change
  15. Focus
    • Explain WD
    • Anti-hysteresis
  16. Scan speed
  17. Finding first peak, maybe second peak if available
  18. Changing aperture
    • Dialog box
    • Changing (explain direction of Y)
    • Maximum brightness, lower brightness if necessary
    • Zoom in to 1000
      • Explain anti-hysteresis, focus
      • Explain need to go slowly
      • Explain resulting shift when focusing
    • Reduced raster (if not introduced already), resize, move
    • Focus wobble

  25. Export to TIFF

  27. Change back to aperture #2
  28. X to 50.00, Tilt to 0
  29. Shutdown
  30. Push FTP
    • Delete from local box when done
    • Retrieving files from FTP server
    • Auto-delete on server
    • What to do if it crashes
  31. Power to Standby
