Responsibilities
Adding books
- Add the book to Library Thing
- Username: Pumpingstationone
- Password: ps1frocks
- Look up the Library of Congress Classification
- Sometimes it is listed in Edit Information on Library Thing
- Or you can look it up on the Library of Congress website
- Or you can see what other libraries have tagged the book at the WorldCat website.
- Type the call number in an office program. They are left-aligned 14pt Times New Roman.
- Print it out, cut it out, and attach it to the book with packing tape.
- If the book is to be used by a class or still belongs to someone else, put a red dot sticker on it and add it to the https://wiki.pumpingstationone.org/Library/Red_Dots page.
Removing Books
There is not a lot of space in the library. Sometimes, books need to be removed to make room for new ones.
- Check the library use statistics to see if people have been using it. If not, continue.
- Attach a tag to the book saying that it is going to be removed in two weeks.
- Post on the mailing list that the book will be removed and why it will be removed.
- If someone gives a good reason why the book should not be removed, consider it.
- In Library Thing, move the book to the Removed collection.
- Move the book to the wut zone.
