Responsibilities

Adding books

  1. Add the book to Library Thing
    • Username: Pumpingstationone
    • Password: ps1frocks
  2. Look up the Library of Congress Classification
    1. Sometimes it is listed in Edit Information on Library Thing
    2. Or you can look it up on the Library of Congress website
    3. Or you can see what other libraries have tagged the book at the WorldCat website.
  3. Type the call number in an office program. They are left-aligned 14pt Times New Roman.
  4. Print it out, cut it out, and attach it to the book with packing tape.
  5. If the book is to be used by a class or still belongs to someone else, put a red dot sticker on it and add it to the https://wiki.pumpingstationone.org/Library/Red_Dots page.

Removing Books

There is not a lot of space in the library. Sometimes, books need to be removed to make room for new ones.

  1. Check the library use statistics to see if people have been using it. If not, continue.
  2. Attach a tag to the book saying that it is going to be removed in two weeks.
  3. Post on the mailing list that the book will be removed and why it will be removed.
    1. If someone gives a good reason why the book should not be removed, consider it.
  4. In Library Thing, move the book to the Removed collection.
  5. Move the book to the wut zone.

Keep the books in order.
