Come to Order -

Proposed Agenda Items:

• Voting Announcement: New Meeting Rules
  • Point 1 (20s): Reason for change:
    • The general meetings have begun to suck - too long, too much yammering, etc
    • Meetings should focus on friends, committee, and interest group meetings, not the main meeting
    • Main meeting should be only announcements and voting - no discussions.
  • Point 2 (20s): Proposed rules:
    • General meeting starts at 8pm sharp, ends 9pm latest.
    • each speaker requests time from Secretary via the agenda on the wiki - 20seconds per main point, plus 30 seconds of Q&A
    • when the announced speaker stands up, he/she must tell the audience how many main points they have
    • agenda is accessible via wiki to all members
    • members encouraged to throw (soft) objects at speakers who take too long
    • members encouraged to throw (soft) objects at president if meeting takes too long
    • all speakers are strongly encouraged to end their announcements with the phrase "come see me after the meeting." or "contact me" or "see the wiki"
    • two weeks after enactment, these rules will expire, allowing us to modify, abandon, or keep these rules as the membership decides.
