Introductions

• Brief overview of what PS1 is (<1min).
• Introduce the board and area hosts.
• New members/visitors introduce themselves.

Announcements

• Dean put together a vote for dust collection. Triano is totally sponsoring it. It's announced on the mailing list. Please post any relevant concerns or discussion there or on the talk page. The vote is in one week.
• This Saturday - Civic hack day at Adler Planetarium. Show up as a team, as an individual, whatever. Adult hackers collaborate with teams of kids to solve civic problems. 8am start.

Tours for Visitors

• Someone will give official tour (make sure liability forms have been signed and that emergency contact info is filled out)

Minutes

• Bry opens meeting at 20:05
• Stands next to case of PBR
• Asks Triano to introduce himself. He does a bad job, from the heart.
• New folks introduce themselves.
  • Brandon fheard about us from someone at a reclaimed wood store. Does weird, cool projects for work. Tired of ruining his apartment with a jig saw. Wants to ruin hackerspace instead.
  • Shari heard about us from Doug (we don't know Doug yet). She likes wearbable computing.
  • Doug knows Sacha. Wearable computing, as well. Engineering background.
  • Someone else heard about us from Chuck (I don't know if we know Chuck). They were researching makerspaces and discovered us by chance. Visiting to see what sort of things we do here. Installation art an animation.
  • Chuck is planning an exhibit in November. Here for curatorial research.
  • Bry introduces board members and area hosts because Doug asked.
  • Jay is at large.
• Bry picks two 'random' folks to introduce themselves.
  • Katie Smiley works in a museum job, they love PS1 at those museums. Self-described dabbler. Trying to build a couch that's a ball pit. Trouble with locating a recycled material to serve as replacement for ball pit balls.
    • Discussion about said couch.
  • Anthony is confused. Bry's a jerk. He found out about PS1 from his friend Spencer who toured Milwaukee Makerspace. He does electronics - embedded computing, exploding robots. Wants to make an alarm clock.
