There is a PS1 Slack channel at https://pumpingstation1.slack.com/

To get access to the Slack Channel send an email to an administrator at [email protected], [email protected] or [email protected]

The Slack channel does not depend or rely on any PS1 resources, and has a 100% uptime record since start. It is available at all times, whether or not the PS1 internet service, security certificate, DNS servers or any other systems are functioning. It does not cost PS1 anything to operate.

Be nice to each other, use things to do good deeds. Communicate early and often.

  • Q: Have the credentials for this slack been shared with the board and with systems people? Skm (talk) 08:52, 18 January 2017 (CST)
  • A: Yes with the board at least, should be on the board-accessible LastPass account.

  • Q: Is SSO based on member accounts in use? Does Slack have that features Skm (talk) 08:52, 18 January 2017 (CST)
  • A: No it is not. I don't know if it does.

  • Q: Who are the admins? How do people ask for access Skm (talk) 08:52, 18 January 2017 (CST)
  • A: To get access, email rdoeksen or post something on the Google Group, or send an email to [email protected] Did you know that you can get any question you want answered by sending it to [email protected], that the board, some active members and any member that cares to monitor the traffic at rt.pumpingstationonone.org will see and deal with in a (possibly, usually) timely manner?

  • Q: Is the irc gateway enabled? Is xmpp enabled? Skm (talk) 08:52, 18 January 2017 (CST)
  • A: No. Not that I know of.

  • Q: Is there a code of conduct based on our member agreement and anti-harassment policy? Skm (talk) 08:52, 18 January 2017 (CST)
  • A: Yes, seems like a given; if it is a PS1 thing, then PS1 policies apply. Even if it were not a PS1 thing, that seems reasonable and I would (as the JFDI admin) hold to that.

  • Q: What is the log retention policy? Skm (talk) 08:52, 18 January 2017 (CST)
  • A: The logs roll over right now; for the logs to last more than 10,000 messages, someone would have to ask Slack for PS1 to have a free account based on NFP status as a 501 (c)(3) so far there has been no reported bad conduct like there was on the IRC channel to make this a serious concern; the 10,000 message limit would allow retrieval of recent messages.
