I am voting no due to the kickstarter section of the vote. As Derek says, fund-raising is a lot of work and you have not assigned anyone to do it except for "the board". Fund raising falls under the aegis of the PR director. PR director is a volunteer role, so we cannot expect Ray to spend time on it as though it were a full time job. If Ray is willing to become a sponsor for this vote with the understanding that he has the time and resources to commit to running the fund-raising campaign, then my objection to this part of the vote will no longer stand. There are two votes proposing kickstarter-style crowdfunding campaigns, complete with physical backer rewards. Who is expected to fulfill these rewards? Just laying this at the feet of the board without specifying a person or persons committed to making sure things get done seems presumptuous. Running a crowdfunding campaign is a lot of work, and voting to put that responsibility directly on the board seems like a bad idea to me. --Dbever (talk) 09:19, 3 March 2016 (CST)

kickstarter

I am voting no due to the kickstarter section of the vote. As Derek says, fund-raising is a lot of work and you have not assigned anyone to do it except for "the board". Fund raising falls under the aegis of the PR director. PR director is a volunteer role, so we cannot expect Ray to spend time on it as though it were a full time job. If Ray is willing to become a sponsor for this vote with the understanding that he has the time and resources to commit to running the fund-raising campaign, then my objection to this part of the vote will no longer stand.
