Talk:Wood Shop Dust Collection

Just a comment on the miter saw/chop saw: My experience has been that the little dust port behind the blade looks nice but doesn't actually catch the dust, which tends to fly off to the sides. I ended up building a "box" behind the saw to catch the dust. A google search turns up many examples. But this means that nothing can be behind it on the other side of the bench. • What is being done about metal shop dust collection? This looked like a very thorough list but only for the wood tools. I noted that the language said that a second system is needed for metal; does it make more sense to incorporate both and/or buy a dual system (it sounds like the latter isn't advisable)?
