Vote Announcement and Beginning Date of the Discussion Period

Check the Bylaws if you are unsure.) If the Sponsor has chosen to include member input, suggested edits can be made in a shared document or other collaborative vehicle until the language is locked. Language Lock Date and Start of Voting
Five days prior to the Day of the Vote, the vote language is locked, all edits are frozen, and the language of the vote is converted to a pdf file. Ballots that include the pdf are sent to the Membership, and electronic voting begins. Note that the minimum discussion period of seven days leaves only two days for changes before the lock takes place.

Background
In the past when the old plasma table was young and abused we had a member kindly lend us a gantry crane to move sheets on and off of it as well as to assist in moving other heavy things around the space. That member eventually left and with them the gantry crane. As anyone who has tried if you don't have people to help lifting steel sheet onto the plasma table can be dangerous and hart to impossible to do. With a new gantry crane system members can more easily lift thicker/larger sheets on/off the plasma table and the membership can have a easier time moving around the different machines and tools of the space. As with the old gantry crane it will live above/behind the plasma table.
Here is a list of what will be purchased as part of the new gantry crane system.
1x Gantry Crane 2 ton capacity
1x Chain Hoist
1x Magnetic Lifter 250# capacity
Why Only Partial 2 Ton Capacity
This is to make the system ready for heavier use without spending a lot of money now for a capacity that may rarely if ever get used.
Language of the Vote
We authorize the board or a board selected representative to spend up to $2,200 on purchasing a gantry crane and its necessary accessories.
