Background

PS:1 could use some more square footage. Since Tony, our neighbor is moving out, we have an opportunity to expand and lease the rest of the building - starting September 1st, 2015.

Our current square footage is 6,340 square feet, at a monthly rent of $3,988.46. Tony's space is 4,808 square feet. For the first year of the new lease, it will cost $10.50/sqft/year, for an additional of $4,207.00/month. This brings the total monthly rent to $8,195.45, at $8.83/sqft/year.

As part of this, obviously something would have to go into the newly available shop space. Ideally, one chunk of the shop could be used for dusty and dirty work -- welding, grinding (hot metals area); sanding, sawing (wood shop area and routers of the CNC area); painting, cleaning (fumy general area). The other chunk, separate by a wall and doors, can be used for cleaner work -- precision metal work (machine shop area); controlled exhaust CNC work (lasery CNC, potentially 3d printing); and assembling and finishing (the non-dirty parts of the general area, including work benches.) The area hosts would be expected to work with the membership to decide how to lay out the newly available space and coordinate moving of equipment.
