But the fact remains that this machine was not built to handle PS1; it requires constant TLC and at this point we may have sunk more money into its upkeep than what the original machine cost. In addition, a number of folks have asked several times over the years for a larger unit; it's not particularly big and larger pieces (bicycle and car parts, for example) simply won't fit.

Background

With our bigger capability to powder coat, one item that has been on its last legs (literally) for awhile is our poor suffering Harbor Freight blasting cabinet. The blasting cabinet is a critical component of powder coating in that it prepares the surface to handle the powder and skipping it makes for terrible results (ask how I know). Powder coating is just one reason to use the blasting cabinet; at its heart is a tool for removing rust, paint, and pretty much anything you want to remove from your work.

Thanks to the efforts of several members we have been able to keep the existing machine going and even enhance it; the light Michael Skilton added illuminates inside much better than the factory-installed one ever did.

Having a better-built, larger capability cabinet will greatly enhance everyone's projects, regardless of whether they plan on powder-coating or not.

Have any particular machine in mind?

Yes, the USA 976 Pro Detailer XH.
