Small Ticket Items

  • Coping Saw
  • tri-square
  • marking gauge
  • Beveled edge wood chisels
  • Lathe chisels and gouges
  • chisel/plane iron honing guide
  • Sliding T-square
  • Some featherboards for the router table
  • Cool blocks guide blocks for Rockwell bandsaw
  • Carbide Blades (for table saw) - this is an ongoing need due inevitable misuse - they need to be replaced or sharpened at least every month (it would be cost-effective to rotate some general purpose Forrests since the manufacturer sharpens for free and you can get it done several times before the blade is cheesed)
  • Specialty router bits
  • Wood Screws (variety)
  • A set of decent quality beveled edge chisels and mortising chisels with explicit instructions that they are only to be used on wood. A wooden or poly maul for said chisels. Jason (talk) 14:13, 25 February 2014 (CST)
  • Add several card files so files can be resurrected after they get filled with pine tar and chewing gum. Jason (talk) 13:59, 25 February 2014 (CST)
  • Set of wood rasps so people don't misuse files on wood. Jason (talk) 13:59, 25 February 2014 (CST)
  • Several decent Johnson cast magnesium combination squares, several new carpenter's try squares (ours aren't actually square). Jason (talk) 13:59, 25 February 2014 (CST)
  • Good quality ripping, crosscut, miter, razor/dovetail, and coping saws. Jason (talk) 13:59, 25 February 2014 (CST)
    • Japanese ripping and dovetail saws have inexpensive replaceable/repairable blades.
    • Saw tooth setter and triangular files to be hidden or labeled to be used only by people who know what they're doing. Jason (talk) 13:59, 25 February 2014 (CST)
