Talk:Vote to Ban Spray Painting in and Around PS:One

• I agree with this as a temporary measure, but people need to be able to spray paint, and it would be bad if they simply went out in the alley to do it on city property, where spray paint is illegal. Hef, when you write this proposal, please include a relatively short expiry date of perhaps a month so that we can discuss a workable solution. It may ultimately be a permanent ban.
• I have been thinking about this problem because I've had to address it with our landlord.
• Derek is correct that signs do nothing.
• Being publicly shamed does.
• As I said, people need to be able to spray paint, but this problem could affect our privileges with our landlord. What do we do?
• I am probably going to propose that people observed damaging Tony's property will be publicly called out on the member email list and required to either remove the paint, or use heavy duty concrete paint or blacktop sealant to cover it over (at night so that it's dry by the time Tony needs to use his own property). If they do not do so, their personal privileges will be revoked and their name will be placed on a placard by the loading dock explicitly stating they are not permitted to use spray paint on PS:One property. Nothing else has worked, including several emails to the member list in the last 6 weeks; and it's only several days ago that yet another patch of spray paint appeared on Tony's pavement right where he parks his car. Mind-boggling.
• I would dearly love to see people who do things that jeopardize our relationship with our landlord simply have their memberships revoked; we don't need their money or the tsuris this disrespectful behavior causes. But that's never going to happen. Jason (talk) 16:07, 12 August 2014 (UTC)
