The Shopbot will familiarize you to using CNC and other necessary concepts such as feeds and speeds, tool choice, etc. Only part 1 of Shopbot Authorization is required and will eventually be replaced by a distinct CAD/CAM course (TBD, 2019). We also strongly recommend completing Shopbot Part 2 especially if you are new to CNC milling, as the Shopbot cuts more forgiving materials, as well as more forgiving feed and speed rates.

The personal project requirements has been lifted. Nonetheless, please feel free to request assistance or supervision from either an authorizer or another authorized user while running your project. The #cnc user group in Slack is also always available to provide advice and assistance.

The Tormach is the first machine with scheduling at PS1. We will be using the PS1 Skedda platform for scheduling.
