My list of things that needs doing for general area host duties. If you have suggestions, please add them to the discussion page.

Create a new budget

Budget for FY2015. The previous budget I created for 2014 that never got voted on is here. I'll probably base 2014 off of that to some extent.

Air conditioners

  • Make wiki pages for each air conditioner, including stuff like model number, maintenance info, when maintenance was last performed, etc. HVAC is a good starting point.

Exit signs

The lightbulbs were all replaced with LED bulbs except for the one above the front stairs upstairs. That one needs new wiring. RT

Walls for the lounge

I need to paint the walls with a sealant paint first, then install drywall. I've made a plan with Skilton and put together a budget. I just need to get the budget approved/voted on. After we install the drywall, we can install french cleats on the drywall in order to do fitterdave's idea of modular wall panels.

Member Shelves

  • Get people to use the shelf registry and/or make a better one
  • Convert some of the shelves in the shop into member shelves
  • Get rid of the Wut Zone

Bathrooms

Work on the sinks in the downstairs bathrooms. I'd like to replace them. Mostly because I don't particularly like those sinks, but also because they're leaky. I probably won't be able to fully replace the sinks this year. In the meantime, it would be enough to just replace the valves.

I briefly looked into how much this would cost. Wall mount faucets like we would need for those sinks were a minimum of $200 on Home Depot's website. It's actually cheaper to just buy new sinks and buy regular faucets for them (regular faucets can be had for about $30).

Lounge furniture

  • I would like to replace the tables in the lounge with something a bit easier to arrange for different types of events. My vision is to have some smaller tables that can be easily arranged as desks for a classroom type of setting or pushed together into a large table for something like game night. Power at each desk?
  • More shelves for books.
  • Shelf/cabinet for Video Game/AV stuff.

Whiteboards in Lounge

There needs to be something better here...

Signage

Figure out whether or not we're allowed to hang a sign from the already existing hooks outside. If so, make a sign for PS1.

Skilton said he would ask Tony about it next time he sees him. He also said we would probably need a permit from the city.

I looked into the cost of getting a permit. It would be on the order of thousands of dollars. I'm not really sure if it's worth it...
