Background
Pumping Station: One could benefit from some extra care and attention in the form of cleanliness. There are so many different interests, hobbies and skills at PS1, but one thing that we all have in common is the benefit we could gain from a cleaner space and a shared object to invest in. This vote is for the purchase of a "Roomba" or similar automatic floor cleaner. In addition, this vote includes the purchase of various sensors and technologies for the Internet of Things. The goal would be for anyone in the world to be able to check to see "how the robot is doing".
Various sensors and technologies would include [open for discussion]:
- GPS locator
- Accelerometer
- Activity trackers
- Member/robot interaction tracking
- Blog capabilities
- warranty for robot that covers damage/theft etc.
- Other things.
- Cameras for people to access and see will not be a part of this robot. Furthermore, the addition of cameras in the future will be not be permitted.
The vote also includes funding to support member collaboration in the development of this robot.
