Background
The air quality in Hot Metals sucks. When folks are welding you can generally smell it before you see it (and hopefully you only see it through the curtain or a welding helmet) and after awhile the fumes can become a bit overwhelming. Breathing in all that crap takes its toll on the body and can leave someone feeling tired and dazed.
While getting a fume extractor is not a perfect solution to fixing the air quality in Hot Metals (*cough*woodshopdust*cough*), it will at least help contribute to making the environment better to be in.

Wait, why this machine?
It's got a small footprint, simple to use, easy to maintain. Plus it's on wheels so it's easy to move around.
Hey, there's two welding stations, why only get one?
Because two machines would cost twice as much, and generally we don't have multiple welders going simultaneously. If suddenly Hot Metals is more popular than the Wood Shop and people are literally waiting in the lounge, we could submit a 2.0 version of this vote to get another one.
What about consumables? That crap's gotta go somewhere
Replacement filters are, according to Cyberweld, $285.80. That would be purchased out of the Hot Metals yearly budget. That said, I read that the filters are washable so it's likely we'd only get another one if it was obvious the existing one was in dire shape.
