This is the committee that handles communicating with organizations that reach large audiences. This is important, because when we reach a large audience, we want to make sure we put our best foot forward. So if it's a large audience, run it by these people first, please.

Because we've all been asked about PS:One and found ourselves mumbling something lame like "It's cool and we're gonna race Power Wheels."

Pumping Station: One is sort of a community workshop for artists and inventors.
30 Seconds
Pumping Station: One is Chicago's largest hacker space with over 350 members and a 6,000 square foot facility in Chicago's Avondale neighborhood. PS1 facilitates creativity through the merging of art, technology, and culture. Members enjoy a diverse community of peers to collaborate with, classes and workshops on subjects from electronics and programming to welding and home beer brewing, and 24-hour access to a huge variety of tools, equipment, and resources for just about any project imaginable.
1-2 Minutes
Pumping Station: One is Chicago's largest hacker space with over 350 members and a 6,000 square foot facility in Chicago's Avondale neighborhood - a space to facilitate creativity through technology, art and culture. Pumping Station: One (PS:One) was named in honor of one of the few buildings to survive the great Chicago fire, and in the spirit of that monument to the City's tenacity, PS:One aims to promote and inspire a new generation of innovators.
Chicago's pioneer in the international hacker space movement, PS:One offers members 24-hour access to a constantly expanding inventory of equipment and resources. With classes in subjects from electronics and programming to welding and home beer brewing, workshops with prominent guest speakers, constructive relationships with other hacker groups around the world, and open conversation around new and developing technologies, members can learn about digital logic one evening, teach a class on building guitars the next, and spend the weekend helping to create an 8-foot working Tetris wall while discussing plans to implement green technology in the space.
Pumping Station: One is located at 3519 N. Elston Ave in Chicago, Illinois. To learn more, visit www.pumpingstationone.org, or contact [email protected]. We are a Illinois Not-For-Profit corporation, now fiscally sponsored by The School Factory.
