Unlike Full Members, Starving Hackers do not have the right to participate in member votes, or to vote for officers and directors of the organization. Being a Starving Hacker does not disqualify a member from becoming an officer or director at some point in the future, but a person must be a Full Member for at least the six months immediately preceding their candidacy for an officer or director position, and must be a Full Member for the entire term as an officer or director.
