Dyna Kiln N100
Kiln
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kiln
This particular kiln is currently located in the small metals area by the fume hood and induction furnaces.
Configuration
Wiring
There are 2 power cables required for the kiln. One large diameter cable that connects to the outlet on the red tool box and one smaller diameter cable that goes directly to the wall. See the image below for a block diagram.
The smaller cable connects directly to a mechanical relay within the kiln itself. In order to avoid excessive switching we connect this directly to the wall.
Safety Pyro Cone
Although the controller works well to stay within the specified temperature profile we also utilize a pyrometric cone (kiln sitter) as an insurance. Make sure that the cone properly supports the safety latch flip (the copper tab that falls when slightly bumped).

Auto Firing
After properly configuring the cables access to the interface can be found here: http://kilnpi.local:8081/ .
When creating a profile make sure that your ramp rate is <8degF/minute.

Can't connect to site
Raspberry Pi zero can only connect to the 2.4 ghz network which requires your computer to do the same. To configure your machine to the 2.4ghz network you can follow this guide (windows): https://www.windowsdigitals.com/how-to-change-5ghz-to-2-4ghz-in-windows-10/

Safety
Clear the surrounding area, at least one foot radios, of combustible material, wood, paper and especially aerosol containers.
While firing, before walking away, make sure the hot sign is on the kiln and that bystander have proper warning of extreme heat.
Make sure ceramic wares are cooled below 100 degrees Fahrenheit before handling.
