Background

PS1's current covid Masking and Vaccination (M/V) policies occasionally refer to the city of Chicago's policy as the basis for our own. Over time our covid policies have slipped out of sync with the City's, creating some confusion around the difference between the model and how we are implementing it at PS1. This proposal seeks to realign PS1's covid M/V policy with the City's M/V policies as they may change over time. If the city "recommends masks" in gyms for entry, then PS1 "recommends masks" for entry. By definition "recommends" is not enforceble, but following a "recommends" means that you're a "team player" (or something like that). If Chicago "requires proof of vaccination" in gyms, then PS1 "requires proof of vaccination" for entry.

Language of the Vote

Effective at midnight following the passing of this proposal, PS1's policy on covid masking and vaccination will continually follow the City of Chicago's covid policies, both recommended and required, on masking and vaccination as related to, specifically, public gyms (e.g. Xport, Planet Fitness), and changing as the City's policies may evolve over time. During periods when proof of vaccination is required by the City for entrance to public gyms, PS1's procedures given in the vaccination policy in effect on the day of the Member vote on this policy will be active. This policy superceeds all other PS1 policies on covid masking and vaccinations that exist on the day of the vote on this proposal.
