Ryan Pierce runs [[Leica S430 Scanning Electron Microscope|SEM]] user authorizations which consist of a 3 hour group lecture (watch the mailing list, he tries to schedule these at varying times monthly) after which you must schedule a 1 1/2 hour slot with him for hands on individual instruction. Users completing this will be authorized to use the SEM to view samples already in the sample chamber. Ryan can work with users to prepare samples which users can view. Additional advanced authorizations (sample prep, EDX analysis, critical point drying) are in the works.

The current areas have broken authorization paths.

Examples of broken paths are not regularly scheduled authorizations, or authorizations where there are frequent complaints about not being able to get authorized.

On The Bridgeport Mill

There are currently no regular authorizations happening the on Mill.

I've seen folks doing authorizations with some frequency. They aren't scheduled, but it doesn't seem inaccessible.--Dbever (talk) 08:29, 22 June 2015 (CDT)

On Metal Shop Basic Tools (Tier 1)
