I like the idea of offering potential new members an incentive to join although I'm not in favor of giving 2 months free with 1 paid month. I would offer that a discount of maybe 50% for the first 3 months would be a better incentive for new members. I also think this option would increase the value of membership and possible increase the full membership enrollments.

What is the difference between giving 2 free months with 1 paid month compared to a reduction of 50% both options give an incentive to join although the first option does not generate membership dues for 2 months and the second option will. Both option give new members time to learn how they will use the space and what benefits they'll gain from using the space and the second option also adds value to PS1.
